I started Kapture Lab in 2017. I wanted to focus on things I enjoyed most and become focused on specific photographic and videos skills rather than be a jack-of-all-trades. When I discovered my favourite thing to photograph is people and make music videos, my vision for Kapture Lab was born. 

My name is Michael, and I like to think I value learning over complacency. Every shoot is a learning experience. It’s a chance to connect with my clients and collaborators, as well as the environment around us. I’m a one-man army but when I need assistants and other skilled hands for shoots I have a superb network around me. 

I specialise in (but not limited to) people photography and music videos. Be it promo images for musicians, office headshots or events, to personal one-to-one shoots for your social media profiles.  Having said that, if you have a particular project, I would love to hear about it, as my skills aren’t just limited only to portraits.

The name ‘Kapture Lab’

Where did the name ‘Kapture Lab’ come from? Well, photography is where science meets creativity. The science of light and colour, fused with creative vision, gels and develops into the final product. I love the idea of creativity meeting science and technology. 

Photo & Video

Photography has been the main driver behind my work but video is happily beginning to take over. Shooting videos on DLSRs has been fun, however, we’re now moving into 4K and shooting from the sky with our drone as well as upgrades to 4K DSLRs. Recently I’ve welcomed the new Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro to the family for excellent, cinematic video.
